Why do I have to take an anti-biotic every time I get my teeth cleaned just because I have a heart murmur?

I'm told it's a minor murmur called mitro valve prolapse but my doctor says not to worry because my heart is healthy, so what is dangerous about getting dental work done without an anti-biotic?? My dentist won't even clean my teeth unless I take Amoxicillan (anti-biotic).

I may be the weirdest person ever. unless?

If someone has bad breath or horrid B.O. do you say anything?

Or other things like bogeys hanging out of their nose or a big stain on the back of their trousers, etc.? Do you tell them or just try to keep it to yourself? I told this bloke his breath was making me break out in a cold sweat and he got all pissed off at me.

I'd want to know if I was smelling the place up, you know?

whats some of the most annoying things your dentists assistant does?

im an assistant for an orthodontist and was just wondering if i ever do anything that really annoys our patients. i usually just say hi, hows it going etc.

make small talk unless they talk more. i see them every six weeks so dont want to be asking the same things over and over again.

pre dental too late?

I am a 2nd year student and am interested in taking pre-dental course work. I didnt take any of these courses my first year, so Is it to late to take and finish these courses? is it possible to finish them in 5 years and still have a chance at getting accepted into a dental school?

Date from hell?

Ever had a date from hell? I was fixed up with someone one for a blind date and a best friend was fixed up with the same person for the next night.

person doing the 'fixing up' did not know my friend and I knew each other.

the blind date was awful. I remember the person having bad breath.

My gums are kind of like swollen or overgrown I guess. How much would it cost to fix that? Its not gingivitis?

I have a rotten tooth in my mouth which I shall get taken out by my dentist soon. However another of my teeth which does not seem to have a cavitiy has started to turn grey on an edge, has the rot spread?
