does the dentist unneccesarily torture patients? they get paid to infilct pain,dont they?

It's really creeping me out. He gave me two inhalers (well, one.

other one my mom's getting because it's like a prescription one) and antibiotics so it wouldn't get worse. Like, turn into something else. It's really hard for me to do breath normally, should I be ok after the inhalers and stuff? I think I'm going to go to school tomorrow since I don't want to miss too much. I'd rather keep my last “sick day” for emergencies. I'm already mad about letting myself stay home today. At least I'll get the stuff to make me better today. Anyway, my doctor told me to drink a lot of water, but I just.. can't drink a lot. It makes me feel weird. So, what should I do? He said I didn't have to, that it'd just make me feel better. Btw.. I'm 14 and this is the first time I've ever gotten sick enough to go to the doctor (even my mom said that). That's why this is messing up my mind so much. So basically, I'm just asking for advice on dealing with this. Thanks!

I brush and floss all around it like crazy. no matter what, when i put a piece of floss between in this one spot, it always smells horrible what is wrong? what can I do? no dental coverage

I asked a question yesterday about the pain I was having and it might be TMJ.

a traumatic injury to the mouth when I was hit with a 2×6 months ago when the clicking started, the pain on the left side of the jaw just started the other day.

to try to change my appointment that I have in 2 weeks to get in sooner at the dentist but can not find out till Monday.

can I do to help relieve the pain in the meantime? I am already on Ibuprofen for my ankle injury, but still have pain in both the ankle and jaw area. Anything else I can do besides pain med? Not worried about the ankle, I can deal with that pain, only worried about the jaw pain as I am having a hard time just opening and closing my mouth right now.. Just finished a course of oral cortisone for the ankle.

My husband bought two kinds of floss and I have one upstairs and one downstairs so I use both regularly.

one upstairs is really thick (I think it's Oral B) and it doesn't hurt as much as the one downstairs (Boots brand) which is regular floss and sometimes makes my gums hurt if I am not careful. I wonder if the thick one does the same job as the thin one? Is there anything else I should know about floss, to get the most out of my daily routine?
