What are some good products you would use to fight gingivitis?

I am asking because ive been waiting for an oparation for months now, yet when I was last at the dental hospital the immigrants seemed to get seen right away and I was turned away yet again! I forgot to mention i am suffering from mouth cancer and cannot have it treated until i get my teeth seen too first I'm also a ex British Paratrooper who served several times in Northern Ireland in the 70s ..another war that seems to be forgotten.
