3 ways to cure bad breath

1) Food habits:

Protein containing food articles are known to produce bad breath. For example; meat, milk, fish, egg etc. If these food articles are eaten the correct mouth and teeth cleaning regime is essential. Some food items are known to produce a particular smell which may be unpleasant to others, raw onion is a great example. There is saying that goes an apple a day keeps the doctor away while a raw onion a day keeps every body away. Small food items eaten between meals can also cause bad breath odor (nuts, fried items etc).

2) Water intake:

Dryness in the mouth can make a favourable condition for the bacterial activity resulting in bad odor, saliva is needed to keep the mouth moist and to reduce the bacterial proliferation. Production of saliva is closely related with water balance of the body and hence sufficient quantity of water should be taken to maintain the production of saliva.

3) Mouth fresheners:

Natural and artificial mouth fresheners can reduce the intensity of bad breath to some extent. Spicy articles are commonly used for this purpose. Chewing spices like clove, cumin seed, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger etc are useful. Citrus fruits can reduce bad breath odor, mouth fresheners and chewing gums are available from local stores everywhere and whilst these products can be useful in the short term some can cause damage so they should be used with caution.
