What is gingivitis and what does it look like? How do you get it and how do you fix it? Thanks

Ok, I have bad gingivitis. My gums are puffy and red and they bleed when I floss them. I use listeriene. I brush. I floss.

problem is still here.

the last 3 years I have had a sucession of cavities develop.

2003 I have noticed a rapid decline in my dental health. I had my wisdom teeeth removed in 2004 because they were impacted.

for two years I wore braces because I had an underbit that was wearing down my front teeth.

of the cavities developed because of that. I also do not produce enough protective saliva in my mouth. I think I have developed gingival pockets where bacteria is growing. That's just a hunch, not a fact right now.) I see the dentist at ever 5 months.

time he gave me a bad report and told me I have two cavities now and two areas to watch. He could not fix them at the time due to time constraint.

next time I can do anything is after this quarter at college ends for summer break and I can go home again. I don't have dental insurance!

i have MILD ginigivitis and I HAVE GONE TO THE DENTIST [sorry, i asked this q before and every answer said go to the dentist] anyway, i brush twice a day nad floss twice, use mothwash adn waterpick yet it doesn't seem to be enough! is their any other things to do/items to buy that would help?

My sister has gingivitis and shes trying to help it but I told her I heard that once you have it you can't get rid of it. I saw on tv some toothbrush that helps with gingivitis. Is there any toothbrushes that help reverse it or atleast get it under control? If you can help that would be great.

She is quite old but I don't want her to be in pain. However if dental treatment is expensive we can' afford to have her put under anesthetic, and being quite old she already responds hossibllt to anesthetic.

It doesn't really hurt, but if you look at it closely, its definitely noticeable. Is this gingivitis? My other bottom teeth aren't experiencing this problem.

If a person does not brush their teeth, how long will it take for tooth decay to do permanent damage? Today ended a 6 month test (it started off as a week, but I kept it going after seeing 0 results) of not using any form of dental-care products.

dentist I visited said I had a very mild case of gingivitis, but had an otherwise perfectly healthy mouth. I had no stinky breath (public opinion on that one), and no dental pain or malady at all. I've never had a cavity, and have never taken especially careful care of my teeth. My diet consisted mainly of pasta/dairy/vegetables, with small servings of fruit, tea, and the occasional meal of meat. I eat almost no sugary candy-like foods and rarely drink soda. So is it genetic? Dietary? Or perhaps tooth-care is simply just another market where people are told that they must buy many different products or else their teeth will fall out? Im Supposed to be getting braces this year but the nurse said they have to put me off because I have gingivitis in my gums. So the time I havent been to the dentist I have really been brushing my teeth and gums and hopefully they will let me go through with it.

I want to know is whenever you get braces do you go onto Train Tracks straight away or not? If you had braces was you happy with your result and how long did you have them on for?
